Queer Clinic CIC
Queer Clinic CIC officially launched in 2024 with a simple aim: to create welcoming spaces where queer and trans people can come together, get creative, support one another and feel like they belong.
We started out by running monthly low-cost community massage clinics in Brighton, making holistic wellbeing more accessible for our community. As we got to know the people coming along, it became clear that creativity was just as important as wellbeing. People wanted spaces to make things, share ideas, learn new skills and connect with others who just got it.
So that's where Queer Clinic naturally grew.
We're a grassroots, community-led organisation inspired by the DIY spirit that's always been such an important part of queer and trans communities. We believe creativity shouldn't feel exclusive or intimidating. You don't need to be a professional artist, musician or writer to have something worth creating. Whether you're writing your first poem, making music in your bedroom, drawing for fun or trying something completely new, there's a place for you here.
With support from the National Lottery, we created our free online Resource Hub, packed with over 25 creative and wellbeing workshops, all made by and for the queer community. We love sharing skills, championing each other's ideas and making creativity feel accessible to everyone.
These days, creativity is at the heart of everything we do. From music, writing and visual arts to workshops, community events and creative collaborations, we're all about helping queer and trans people find their voice, explore new ideas and build connections along the way.
We're still growing, and we've got plenty of exciting projects in the works. Whatever comes next, we'll always stay true to the values that started Queer Clinic: community, creativity, mutual support and doing things with a DIY, grassroots spirit.
